With two floors at The John Hancock Center on Michigan Avenue, Best Buy had the unique opportunity to express their brand by “letting the inside out.” The partial-height fixture walls facing the street show bold graphics soaring through massive floor-to-ceiling glass panes. This design creates the effect of an imaginative technology landscape floating inside a glass-and-steel box.
The two floors are joined by an open-rise stair configuration creating a new well space filled with natural light and active shoppers. This inviting open space is filled with murals of Chicago landmarks and neighborhoods adding a familiar local flair.
In this 30,000 square-foot location Best Buy successfully embraced the challenge to compete with the surrounding upscale storefronts and architecture of Chicago’s bustling Magnificent Mile.
